Does your resume builder catch retracted papers?

Does an automated resume builder catch retracted publications? Axe Builder, our resume builder for researchers, turns an ORCID iD into an academic resume with citations, h-index, journal quartiles and Crossref data already in place, and since 16 July it has checked every import for retractions. Retracted papers and retraction notices are screened out at the moment a publication list is imported, whether the list comes from ORCID or from an uploaded CV.

The check addresses a quiet and real risk. Registries keep retracted items on an author’s record, an import copies the record, and a withdrawn paper can reach a resume that nobody re-reads before sending it. In an academic hire a single retraction on a publication list can end a candidacy, so the screen runs on every import.

How to check your own CV for retractions

You can search each DOI on the publisher’s site or in a retraction database and read any notice attached to it, or you can import your ORCID iD into Axe Builder and let the screen run. We built the check because Axe Talent verifies every publication list before it goes to a university, and the same check now runs on the publication list of every researcher who uses the builder.

Axe Talent is the first AI-native agency recruiting researchers for universities and industry with its own AI tools. Axe Builder, our resume builder for researchers, is free to start. Universities and research teams: write to natalia@axetalent.com or book twenty minutes on Natalia’s Calendar. More on the News & Updates page.
